Better late than never…
When I began my adventure in running my own web design business, one of the key drivers was that it would allow me to spend more time at home with my young kids. While it has allowed me to do just that, it does so at the cost of whatever free time I had in my previous life. I’m not bemoaning the situation at all; starting Portico has been, and continues to be, tremendously rewarding. It does, however, force me to prioritize almost everything I do in the run of a day. As with any list, some things shoot to the top, while others struggle for a little daylight.
One of those neglected tasks has been to launch the blog portion of this site. It’s been long on my to-do list, seemingly destined to languish forever near the bottom of the pile. However, here, late on a Friday spent bailing out my flooded basement, I felt the strong urge to lift that long-ignored item out of the mire and place it atop the stack, where it rightly deserves to sit.
So here we are – very little of substance in this post, but it will serve as a short introduction nonetheless. I mean to keep the blog updated fairly frequently with post mortems from recent projects, interesting trends I’m following, and other things that will surely be of some interest to someone, somewhere. I know my Mom will read it at least.
